Being My Own Boss – Sound Good?

Have you ever thought to yourself I want to be my own boss, or ever wondered “can I be my own boss”? Being my own boss. Doesn’t that sound too good to be true?

In my younger years I really didn’t put much thought into owning my own business. But then again, we didn’t have the internet either. I have had many jobs since. Most of them I really enjoyed and a couple that I hated and didn’t stick with them very long. I’m a firm believer in enjoying the type of work you do.

As I got older and started having children ( still no internet yet ) it was difficult to work and take care of my little ones. I was able to do it, but for others it basically meant trusting a stranger to watch and take care of your little ones while you worked. Luckily I had my mother. And I started a family at a really young age. But the age you start a family is really irrelevant. You always want to make sure your child is safe and is being taken care of the right way.

Along Came The Internet

When the internet became more accessible to the public. It was exciting but It would take you forever to connect to it. Yes, it was dial up. This was exciting, but I still didn’t put much thought into having my own business let alone my own website.

In the present time, WHOA. There are so many jobs that are posted online. Jobs that go by what degree you have, your specialty, the training you have, even no experience needed jobs and the list goes on. You just type what you are looking for and BAM! Hundreds and thousands of job listings right at your finger tips. Of course, you have to sort through the ads. Just have to deal with them, I mean it is the internet. And that is their job with the ads. Place them where they will get seen. Any ways, what about working from home, or be your own boss kind of jobs. There are tons of them as well.

Let The Searching Begin

Thanks to google, searching has been made a lot easier. Most of the time you don’t even have to type in everything. Google will bring up the most popular searches once you start typing in the search bar. The above photo demonstrates this when I chose jobs near me. I live in a rural area with not really many jobs near me. If you are like me, then it will also include surrounding cities in the results. Choose which result you want to explore, you will notice there will be about 4 ads before you get to your actual search results. I don’t even bother with the ads. In the past I found it to be quite aggravating.

Under the ads will be results also show what jobs are available near us, where they are and what employment agency they are listed through. Let’s talk agencies,

Indeed, – This agency is not ranked very well at all. When you first enter the site there are a lot of job openings. However, most of them are actually outdated. Most of the employers are no longer looking or are no longer using Indeed. There are numerous complaints from employers looking for employees and from those searching for a job through them. It is said that indeed sets both sides up for failure. Indeed doesn’t have accurate information, they want you to apply for as many jobs as possible even those that don’t meet your search criteria. When you do type in what type of job you are looking for, you may get one that fits your search but you will also get more of the ones that do not.

Monster– Another well known online employment recruiting service. The reviews for this one were horrible as well. Yet on the same page as the 71 % bad reviews and 18 % excellent reviews there was an ad for using Monster job service. This is what it said, Monster is ranked 24 out of 26 in the category Recruitment.

If you choose to use an online agency, chances are you will have to pay to use their service so you will need to do some research before committing to them. REVIEWS are a must. You want to find out what others are saying about them.

Depending on where you live will determine what is available to you. Regardless of where you live, you are here because you are interested in being your own boss .

Sales – Not Having To Deal With Housing The Product Or Shipping

There are a lot of affiliate marketers that you can sign up with and make money online marketing by selling their products for a commission. There is no door to door selling, no finding and paying for a place to store your products. What more could you ask for? You don’t have to do anything except build a website, promote their products, get traffic to your site, sell their products and make money. Sounds really easy, right? It is easy IF you have experience in this type of business, and already have a website and domain name.

For those just getting started it isn’t hard, but it will take time and commitment. You will need to build a website after you decide on what type of product/company you are most interested in. Get hosting and security for your site as well as a domain name, find the tools and training to build your site and so much more. But don’t worry. All of that plus more is available to you for free. Check out my review on this free platform. You will have everything you need if you are looking to do online marketing or any online business

Take Surveys – Earn Money

Sites that pay you to take surveys seems to be on the rise. WARNING, this can be very time=consuming and to me the pay is not worth it.

Swagbucks seems to be very popular. You search for everything on the web so why not make a little money in doing so, Earn swagbucks by shopping online, playing games and even watching videos. Easy enough? Sound fun? The answer of course is yes. But, like I said this can be very time-consuming. The way this works is you will earn free gift cards and cash (swagbucks) from doing everything you love to do online. Making purchases from any of their affiliate stores, J C Penny, Macy’s, Amazon even Wal-Mart just to name a few, will earn you 1 swag buck for every dollar you spend. This is equal to 1% cash back. There are thousands of stores that you can shop on and earn.

Taking surveys will earn you $1.00 in cash to every 100 swagbucks you earn. When you take an online survey, each survey will have a different payout. Some do offer $50.00 but most offer less and don’t take as much time for you to finish the survey.

Taking surveys has its benefits even outside of getting paid to take them. The information from the surveys will help improve the products and the marketing for them.

MySurvey gives you reward points for every survey you take. Once you have collected a certain amount of points you can then redeem them for items in their reward catalog. The items you can buy with your points range from e-certificates for Amazon to cash.

Know What You Are In For

When you look to the online world to assist you in finding a business to do full/part-time online or a way to make a little extra cash. Be careful. Everything isn’t as it always seems. Being your own boss could have tremendous benefits, but the search to find it could cause you a lot of aggravation and even can cost you financially. Don’t rush into anything until you have the facts. Keep your options open, Search for similar business or for others that are related to what type of opportunity you are looking for. This could help you make the best or cause you to make the worst decision. Please my article on scams in hope to further assist you in not getting scammed during your search.

Something To Do When You Are Bored

I’m sure everyone has at some point found themselves looking for something to do when you are bored. Maybe a craft, go for a bike ride, take the little ones to the park, or just watch a movie and have popcorn with the family. Our bordism could stem from maybe the weather or the little ones being in school or all of your friends are in class (if you are a college student}. Many situations cause boredom.

Stay At Home Parent – Want To Occupy Your Time ?

Stay at home parents get bored rather easily. At least I do. A person can only clean so much right? There aren’t enough errands for you to run to keep you busy every day while the little ones are in school right? Sure the little ones have activities and sports and they do seem to make you feel like you are REALLY busy. I know all about that. We have girl scouts, my older daughter does wrestling, and yes my DAUGHTER. She just turned 13 and this was her first year. She did really good. We have track coming up and for many years I had 3 involved in cheer. Those were the days.

As parents we love being involved in our children. Being there on the sidelines or up in the stands. We sit in the cold, the rain and in the hot sun, just so they can hear us cheering them on or to hug them if they lost and to be there in case they were to get injured. But what about when you are home and have nothing to do. Do you get bored out of of your mind? Well if you stick with me until the end I will show you something that will occupy that time and you can earn money. Wait don’t leave and miss out. This isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme or something that will cost you. It is totally free!! No credit card needed!! How awesome is that?

Empty Nester – Now What ?

Your last little one just graduated and is eager to set out on their own. Maybe they decided to stay at home a little while after graduating. Now they are all gone exploring life on their own. You are lost now. You are probably going through a period of separation blues period right now. After all, you have had them there with you for all these years. You reminisce about the pregnancy, the birth and every milestone. Yeah, it brings tears to my eyes too. I still have 2 at home, but I have 5 that have flown from my nest. My latest one was June 2017. I am still trying to get used to her not being here. She was my sidekick.

Now it is just you and of your spouse/significant other or maybe even just you. What do you do when of your bored at home? You are still employed, what about in of your off time? Maybe you have a hobby you want to focus on more or if you don’t have one, maybe you want to find one. Maybe start making plans with friends once you have gotten through the initial shock of not having a child at home anymore. Oh, maybe even take a short trip somewhere?

I have a suggestion and it won’t cost you anything. A person can do it in their own time even. You are still employed you can even do it in your spare time and have extra income. Not working? A person can still do it when they want and earn money as well. I am sure you noticed when I said to the stay at home parents that I had something to help occupy their time. I have something special for you as well. All you need is an internet connection . You are reading my post then you obviously have a device that you are able to search the web on. You have all you need for what I am about to show you. Want to sneak a peak, go ahead.

Retiree – It’s Your Turn

This is amazing!! You have made it through everything. No little ones to raise now, no time clock to punch. Like most, you probably dreamed of this day right? You probably thought this day would never come. And here it is. It is finally of your turn. Did you have a retirement plan? Have places you want to travel to,and see the world or maybe really get into of your gardening now? You have nothing but time now. A person sleep in late and stay in of your pj’s until noon if you want. No set time you need to go to bed and can take a nap even. Play some golf or tennis. Get a bridge club going. I bet you have so many things you want to do you don’y even know where to start.

Maybe you weren’t able to have a retirement plan or maybe you had to retire before you were ready due to a disability. Maybe you just need extra income for whatever the reason may be. I have you covered. A person do it from the comfort of of your home or even in the RV while you are traveling. A person do it from anywhere as long as you have internet. Don’t have a computer ? A person even use of your cell phone or tablet. It won’t break the bank either. It actually won’t cost you at all. Assuming you didn’t click on the links in my post about stay at home parents and empty nesters, I saved the best for last.

Here It Is – I’m Spilling The Beans

First I want to thank you for staying with me til the end of this post. I want to fill you in on how I got here. Throughout my life as an adult there have been different situations that I wasn’t able to work. Like most, it is hard to provide for of your family on one income let alone none at all. Well then the internet came along and in no time it went viral, literally. When the online world started booming, so did the possibilities of working online from home. Of course scams increased as well. But I have found one that is definitely not a scam by any means nor will you have to pay for training, tools, hosting or any of that.

It is called Wealthy Affiliate. You would like to check out my review on it just click here. This affiliate came to light when the owners Kyle and Carson were providing keywords for others. They came up with a strategy to not only make money but also that would help others to follow in their footsteps. They designed Wealthy Affiliate. A world renound marketing platform with the training, tools, support and a community you will not find anywhere else.

Worth A Try – So Much To Offer And It Is Free

Whether you fit in to something to do when you are bored because of being a stay at home parent, empty nester, a retiree, or because of a disability. Wealthy Affiliate offers the best training classes, tools to complete task, support not only if you have a technical issue but if you are not understand a part of the training, the community loves to help each other out. You set of your own pace. You don’t even have to do affiliate marketing. A person just write blogs. Yes you can earn money just by writing about of your favorite hobby or about the places you have visited through of your travels. Write about the trials and tribulations of raising of your little ones. Let me explain it like this. When you are searching the internet, no matter what you are searching for, and you click on a link that takes you to a site. How do you think it got there? That’s right. Someone built that site, or wrote that blog, made that video. Were you searching up a review on a product that you were wanting to buy? Yes, someone wrote that. Maybe you have diabetes and you have a question or want to maybe touch base with others that are also dealing with it. My point is the sky is the limit at Wealthy Affiliate. A person learn to build a website on what YOU WANT IT TO BE. And guess what, once you have checked the program out and have decided you want to do this BUT you still have no clue what you would like to do, they will help you figure it out. They aren’t just going to say, “well since you don’t have any ideas then you just need to promote Wealthy Affiliate”. They will help you decide on what would be a good direction for you .

I know you probably didn’t think I was going to keep rambling. You might have been thinking I was just going to throw up a link and say here you go. I don’t believe in that and neither do they. We all want to help others . I am going to paste a link here so that you will get a personal view of how it will begin for you if you choose to give Wealthy Affiliate a try. After all. It is free. If once you take a look and you decide you want to give it a try, just click on the Wealthy Affiliate picture that is located on the right side of the page. Take a look, you will not regret it. This could be the link that stops the bordism and earns you income .

Thank you for sticking with me to the end. You have any questions or comments they are most definitely appreciated and I will reply back.

I Need A Babysitter – Maybe I Don’t

Have you ever found yourself saying “I need a babysitter”? Maybe the one you normally use just up and quit, or had something come up unexpectedly. You got a new job but your work schedule requires you to work hours that your current sitter isn’t able to accommodate. There are so many parents that encounter child care issues on a daily basis. I hope to help you with figuring out whether you need child care or not.

Who Can I Trust

We love our children and always want to protect them. So when I need a babysitter, I automatically try my family or closest friends. Although with our current situation , that isn’t even a possibility. Please feel free to read why it isn’t possible. I have never used a day care as I don’t care too much about leaving my children with strangers. My husband ( at the time ) were able to work around each others schedule so that one of us were always home with our children. If I did decide to daycare,I would have definitely have done my research. We have internet and most businesses will have reviews on their site. What are their ratings? Have they had any abuse allegations/charges? We all know that in order to work in any business where you are caring for children/ or anyone actually, they are required to meet certain criteria as well as pass a background check. Search to see how they interact with children. Do they have adequate staff?Do they transport the children to school? Do they provide snacks? Make a list of EVERYTHING you want to know before you research/call the facility.

Will I Be Working For Free

Another obstacle a lot of families run in to when needing child care, is whether they can afford it or not..Especially single parents. Unless you are lucky enough to have family that will do it for FREE. Daycare can be quite an expense. Working families are already working so that they can afford to pay rent/mortgage pay bills, by groceries, make car payment etc. Most are just getting by on their pay as it is.

According to Child Care Aware Of America single parents In West Virginia (where I live) pay 47.2% of their pay for infant care at a day care center. Married parents with 2 children living on the POVERTY line pay 64.2% of their income for child care in a center. And of course the more little ones you have the more you pay. Hmm, could this be why they have so many issues getting out of poverty? Definitely makes it almost impossible to save money, let alone start a college fund. That leaves single parents with barely 50% and married couples with 2 children get less than 50% of their pay. To me, that is a little unfair. It’s almost like it is a punishment for trying to work, and raise a family. Not everyone has a good paying job and can afford daycare.

During your search for child care you will have to pay close attention to the cost of childcare as well as what the billing cycle is. If you qualify for child care assistance, do they accept it. Are they cleared by your local DHHS office? If so, this may be of big assistance to you.

Another option would be a sitter. Having a baby sitter should cost less. According to Sittercity babysitters Survey in 2017 the hourly rate was $12.19 for children under 21and $12.46. Now days babysitters work part-time or as needed. Nannies normally work a set schedule or on a full time basis. They may live with you or live outside your home. The average weekly salary for a full time nanny that lives outside your home is $705.00 and $652.00 per week full time according to 2015 INA Nanny Salary & Benefits Survey. To me, those who earn a significant income prefer a nanny, and the rest of us will go with a sitter. Although nannies will come more to having years of experience as well as training like CPR, which I would want anyone who watches my child to be able to perform it if needed. They may also want benefits as well like paid time off etc. If you have children that are school age, you will want a very reliable sitter. Nothing like finding out your child wasn’t picked up from school or wasn’t allowed to get off at the bus stop because no one was there to get them.

Here We Go – Call Off Again

As a working parent I would always hate hearing a co-worker say “it’s for you” after hearing the phone ring. I knew it would have to be the school. No one else would call me at work. Well not on the business line anyway (shhh, that is our secret). Actually I worked with some amazing co-workers. But you get my point. There is nothing like hearing that your child is sick or has gotten hurt. Then you rush out of work with no one to cover your position.

You are getting ready for work and you hear ” mommy, my stomach hurts “. You are thinking, oh no. You grab the thermometer and yup, it reads 102. If they are school age that means no school, if not the sitter isn’t wanting to watch a sick and possibly contagious child. Loving parents always want to be with their children especially when they don’t feel good. BUT we as an employee hate calling off. For parents who have little ones that are ill a lot or who are troubled, this creates a very unhappy employer. If there are two parents/guardians raising the child/children then maybe you can tag team. Alternate who takes off when there is a sick little one. Assuming that is a possibility.

Depending on your employer you are only allowed to call off a certain amount of times. If you reach that amount then you are facing disciplinary measures. Most employees aren’t working with understanding employers. Those that are, there is still only so much the employer can allow before they have to take action as well.

Left No Choice

Between not having a reliable sitter and a little one who gets sick every time the wind blows. You get fired. You have lost your job. So what do you do now? If you have a spouse/significant other, hopefully they can can support everyone until you can get another job and a reliable sitter or day care .

If you have been through this then you are probably asking yourself can I get through this? How will I pay the bills? What if my spouse doesn’t make enough to get us through until I can get a job and child care figured out? What if we end up homeless? For a lot of parents who have experienced a loss of their job, no matter the reason, these thoughts go through their mind. There are situations that cause parents to lose their job all the time. It could even be from the employer downsizing or even closing the business for good.

You know the saying “when it rains it pours”? Some peoples life just seem to always be one bad situation after another. They just can’t seem to get ahead no matter how hard they try. It takes a toll after a while. They might get to where they give up. While others may just keep trying and not let themselves give up.

There Is Always Hope

You might have to try something different or take a job you thought you would never do. But as a parent you do what you have to provide for your family. Even if it starts out as temporary. Who knows it could end up being the best job yet or it keeps the income coming in until you can find a better job. And hopefully your sitter or daycare will be there for you so that you don’t have to go through another job loss

My title for this was ” I need a baby sitter-Or do I” This is where the or do I comes in to play. You have plenty of options for a job that you can do right from your home. There are opportunities online as well. And no, it doesn’t mean you have to sell something or become one an annoying sales person who calls you because you visited a site while researching something online. There are tons of legitimate work from home business opportunities. You just have to know where to look and what to look for.

That is what I do now. I am working from the comfort of my own home. Did you happen to click and check out my story earlier in this article? Then you may or may not know why I had to find a way to work from home. By the way, I love it. You are more than welcome to check out what I do. if you are curious about it, go ahead and have a look. Have you thought about working online but weren’t sure how to go about it then click here.https://legitworkforparents.co…

Please, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask and I will definitely reply. Comments and suggestions are always welcome as well.

My Quest Begins- Looking Forward To The Journey

I am on phase two of my training finally. Upon starting phase two I found myself having to go back to the beginning of one as I had myself so lost and confused. The community answered any question I had but I was still unable to make sense of it. I was’t able to comprehend it.

I’ll tell you what really made me start at the beginning again. I was in the process of trying to edit my site to fit the content and show and tell that was discussed in phase 2. So I logged into my site and I clicked on customize at the top instead of edit post.

It brought up this side toolbar that I have never seen before and I had no idea as to what I was supposed to do with it or how to use it. Like I have said many times I am computer illiterate when it comes to themes and website building.

I originally thought it was because I was trying to change my theme and thought that was the reason I had this weird toolbar on the side. I switched back and it was still there. I was advised by the community that switching themes could change your content around. So before I had switched it back I was researching the subject on WA and I did come across a lesson on backing up your widgets. It didn’t help me with the issue I was having, BUT it did show me that I should not be switching my theme until I know how to do it properly.

That leads me to this. My journey into a world of uncertainty for me can still lead me on a quest that can and will have a positive outcome. I solved the issue on my own in a manner of speaking. But I also created the issue for myself . I wouldn’t have figured it out though if it weren’t for the community and the tools at WA to research my issue.

My quest has now started into phase two again and I look forward to the journey through. I was able to actually comprehend more of phase one by doing all the lessons again. It was a win win situation.

Thank you for stopping by. If you have had an experience similar to mine, I would love to hear bout it. Also, any questions or comments are welcomed.

Best wishes in all you do,

Lee Ann
